Fujairah, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, received cultural heritage and archiving expert Badriya Al Hosani, along with Eng. Saher Obeid, Middle East representative of Media Info, at his office in the Emiri Court.
During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the Media Info system for digital libraries and smart archiving, and its role in preserving the national heritage and making it accessible to current and future generations.
The discussions also highlighted the use of advanced artificial intelligence technologies to support archived assets such as books, periodicals, documents, manuscripts, and audio-visual materials, and their importance in facilitating access for researchers, specialists, and the general public to historical and archival content.
His Highness underlined the importance of preserving and documenting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage and identity of the UAE and the region, passing it on to future generations, and introducing it to the world. He reaffirmed Fujairah’s commitment, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to advancing government and institutional efforts in research and historical documentation projects.
His Highness also praised the advanced use of modern technologies in the field of archiving and historical documentation, stressing their role in broadening access to historical information and supporting researchers. He further directed the continuation and development of efforts in this field to maximize its benefits.
For her part, Badriya Al Hosani affirmed her commitment to continuing work and expanding initiatives aimed at documenting the history and heritage of the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
